Owen Dake – Owner

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Owen began his career in construction at a young age, working for his family’s custom home building and development company, Owen & Company Inc. The company developed a subdivision with 85 lots and homes, granting Owen the opportunity to experience many different areas of construction first-hand. Owen assisted with all stages of building, excavation, framing, drywall, trim carpentry, interior finishing and landscaping.

Interested in expanding his knowledge in construction and business, Owen moved to Durango, Colorado in 1992 and went to Fort Lewis College for Engineering Management. During his time at Fort Lewis, Owen worked for Iron Horse Custom Builders in Durango, building decks, fences and custom homes, as well as participating in the construction of larger commercial buildings and renovation projects. In 1998, Owen formed his own cleaning services business, focusing on custom homes in and around Durango working for a variety of builders, and with this company began completing small construction projects.

In 2003, Owen, along with his business partner Luke Hanson, formed Skywalker Construction, which performs all phases of construction in the residential and light commercial market. Skywalker can provide a full service offering from design through construction in the custom home sector. Skywalker is also active in renovation and home additions, which are in demand in the Durango market.
